Salina news story September 22nd, 2013: When it comes to running a business, Ed Serbanich likes to follow the Golden Rule - treat people the way he would like to be treated. "I treat everyone the way I want them to treat my wife when she goes in someplace," he said. Ed Serbanich is the retail manager of Kansasland Tire & Service, 1329 W. North. He's been with the tire sales and automotive repair business for four years, starting at its previous location at Mid-State Plaza in south Salina. However, the Dallas native has been in the automotive repair business for the past 25 years. It's a job he's enjoyed since he first took an automotive repair class in high school. "I like people, and this is very much a people business," he said. Four years ago, Serbanich had been living in Oregon when he applied for and was hired at Kansasland Tire & Service. The company is owned by Gary Wright, a Nebraska resident who owns more than 40 tire and auto repair businesses in four states, including Nebraskaland and Coloradoland in those respective states. Each store is independently operated, Serbanich said. The Salina store has been open since 1999. Serbanich chose to move to Salina because it was closer to family in Dallas. But once he started working here, it wasn't long before he grew to love his adopted city. "It's a nice-sized town, not too huge," he said. "It's a place you get to know your customers. I run into them at restaurants, gas stations. I know a lot of them by their first names." As retail manager of Kansasland, Serbanich supervises a staff of mechanics and salespeople and orders tires and other parts for automobiles and trucks. There also is a manager who runs the commercial end of the business (Terry Fager), dealing with semitrailers, tractors, farm equipment and large flotation tires. (Full story at Salina.com)

February 22nd, 2013 - This shop is great! Honest and kind. My son was traveling from Colorado to Rhode Island and the front end of his car began shaking. Kansasland not only took him in right away, but they repaired his car and got him on his way within the hour. We are so thankful to you for taking such good care of our son. They deserve 6 stars!

June 10th, 2010 - I had some work done on Thursday. There was a problem with the repairs on Sunday. The company offered to pay for a rental car until my vehicle could be repaired. They went way out of their way to assist me and get the problem solved as fast as possible. I am very impressed with this company and would refer all my friends there for all their automotive repair needs.

Goodyear Tires

You don't become a leader in an industry with only a casual interest in your business. If you want to be number one in tires, you think, eat and sleep tires, 365 days a year. As a result of this dedication, Goodyear continues to roll out the tires America wants.

Testing Standards
Goodyear works hard to put the best possible tires on the road. Our testing standards exceed those of the government, to ensure that every product we make delivers high quality performance and dependability. See for yourself how Goodyear products live up to the highest of expectations.

In the old days, we used to brag about the millions of test miles we racked up every year, citing "x" number of trips to the moon or around the equator. Today, we use predictive testing and a host of other methodologies to reduce field and lab test time. But that's only part of the story of Global Tire Performance Prediction (GTPP), one of the new disciplines created late last year in our realignment of RD&E. Have We Raised Tire Manufacturing To An Art Form? Maybe.

But there's no denying the amount of influence Goodyear advances have had on the tire industry. Starting with the simple process of manufacturing a tire and refining it exponentially, we have repeatedly found ourselves on the cutting edge of tire technology. Learn more here about the creation of a tire and the heights to which Goodyear has raised the art.

Tire Rotation
Rotating your tires means moving them from one side of the vehicle to the other, moving them from front to back or a combination of both. Regular tire rotation helps avoid uneven tire wear that can lead to poor performance and gas mileage.

Some tires need rotated at specific intervals, while others will need rotated depending on the wear. To find out when your tires need rotated, check your vehicle's owner's manual or ask one of our technicians.
Wheel Balance
Balancing your tires is important. If overlooked, unbalanced tires can lead to uneven wear, vibration and potentially unsafe driving conditions. Our technicians can help determine whether your tires need to be rotated and balanced based on wear or mileage.

Getting your tires balanced can mean:
• Smoother ride
• Increased Comfort
• Less driver fatigue
• Enhanced tire wear
• Enhanced for tires and drive train components

Wheel alignment is the position of your wheels relative to your vehicle. When properly aligned, your wheels will point in the same direction as the vehicle. To maintain proper control of your car, you must keep your wheels in proper alignment. Otherwise, steering will become difficult, your tires will wear unevenly and your fuel economy will decrease. An alignment check includes:
• Inspection of the steering and suspension components
• Examination of the tires for size, inflation and wear
• Comparison of your alignment to vehicle manufacturer guidelines
